We’ve all heard about the coup in Thailand. For those who’d like more information about it I feel that the Metroblogging Bangkok website is full of insightful details regarding what happened. What I’m wondering is, will Turkey ever come to the point where they want out of the current government and will they ever be forced to take them down like in Bangkok.
I have to admit I don’t want AKP or any similar party to have any kind of power in Turkey but the answer isn’t a military coup. I’m not sure it should even be a last resort even though I’d be pretty happy to see them gone for good.
I’ve always had a huge sympathy for the Turkish Army. For some reason, I feel more secure knowing they’re around.

Democracy means the majority rule. ‘Elected’ and not ‘selected’ is always better than any military rule, especially if the military dictates political philosophy.
Having said all of that, i guess you like men in uniform.
Hope all is well!
Turkey’s no.2 general has been making some noises about the AKP government and the EU is frowning and saying the military should keep out of politics.
Unfortunately, Turkey’s democratic institutions don’t function well mainly because there is little respect for freedom of expression, and little respect for people who have different views or opinions.
